Coming Down 04:23
You’ve turned out the lights To keep yourself from blushing By now I see That was all for nothing You can’t hide the truth I can tell when you’re bluffing I know you are Coming down with something I can feel you coming down with me Coming down with something Tears filled your eyes You said it was from laughing I’m not so sure You’re not that good at acting You say calm down I was just asking I know you are Coming down with something I can feel you coming down with me Coming down with something

Feel Nothing 03:05
How’d he get here The North side of town He can see it When he looks into her eyes now He wants to tell her But she’ll find out somehow Cause he feels nothing He feels nothing How’d she get here The South side of town She can hear it When she listens to him talk now She wants to tell him But the words won’t come out Cause she feels nothing She feels nothing

Burn it down | With me Watch smoke rise from your home Calm down | Be free Now you’re on your own Slow down | Be Still The water will cleanse your soul Look down | At will It’s the fate of us all 1,8 Don’t be afraid Of the sound 2,9 Don’t be afraid To leave town 3,10 Don’t be afraid To be found 4,12 Don’t be afraid To look down 5 Don’t be afraid To be around 6,11 Don’t be afraid To hit the ground 7 Don’t be afraid To wear the crown

Through the glare of the window I could make out your smile I wanted to stay and Watch you a while The clouds rolled in And took you away That was June It’s now the middle of May CHORUS The last time I saw you We spoke no words A piece of glass Separated our worlds The last time I saw you You didn’t see me The last time I saw you Was in a dream I’ve tried to go back Nearly everyday I’ve looked and looked I can’t find my way Maybe you’re busy I’ll wait til you’re free I’ll stay right here Until you find me. CHORUS The last time I saw you We spoke no words A piece of glass Separated our worlds The last time I saw you You didn’t see me The last time I saw you Was in a dream

For every tear you shed And broken heart you mend I will never lie to you The ways I’ve been lied to Through every game you play And every debt you re-pay There’s nothing I won’t do To be here for you CHORUS Through rising tides and landslides Nothing will keep me from you Through bitter cold and volcanoes Nothing will keep me from you Through derailed trains and hurricanes Nothing will keep me from you Through flooded streets and tsunamis Nothing will keep me from you As long as I’m around Nothing will hold you down There’s nothing I won’t do To be here for you CHORUS Through rising tides and landslides Nothing will keep me from you Through bitter cold and volcanoes Nothing will keep me from you Through derailed trains and hurricanes Nothing will keep me from you Through flooded streets and tsunamis Nothing will keep me from you

Take a look at who you are I didn’t think you’d go this far We both know how time can fly It’s about to cut you down to size I know exactly where you've been And I’m keeping track of all your sins I'd like to give this one more day But I know what’ll happen anyway -For now Come inside out of the cold

Tailwind 04:24
I get a chill when I think about That place And all the times I blacked out Like a bullet leaves a gun I left Cause it hurts less on the run CHORUS I can’t fly home Without a tailwind I can’t fly home Without letting you win It’s buried on the plains You know All the faces and names There’s not room for us both I’m told Where the water only flows North CHORUS I can’t fly home Without a tailwind I can’t fly home Without letting you win

about

This album was recorded over the course of about 9 months in various cabins and rooms in the great state of Wisconsin. The demos for these songs were written in bits and pieces (with a crappy USB interface and onboard guitar amps) in the hours after my son went to bed each night for nearly a year. Parts were moved, deleted, re-recorded, deleted, moved again, deleted, etc. Once the songs were structurally finished I took to the woods (in a cabin in central Wisconsin) and re-recorded the songs, with loud amps, live drums. This was a labor of love and a chance to push myself out from behind my “home” instrument… The drums.

I’ve been a drummer for about 25 years, but have been tinkering with the guitar for about 15 of those years. Mainly to keep my rhythm hand tight while living in apartments and was unable to play drums as much as I would've liked. Those two instruments, along with my simple bass lines, could pass as a song. Singing, on the other hand, is NOT something I’ve ever tried, looked forward to, or wanted to do. That being said, if I wanted to put out an album (without making an instrumental album) I had to swing WAY out of my comfort zone and give it a go. Nothing against instrumental albums, I just didn’t think I’d learn much from doing what I figured I could do… All the songs were written, recorded, and played by me. For better or worse.

This album wouldn’t have been possible without the love and support from my family and friends. I’m so thankful to be surrounded with such incredible people!

To Angie and Silas - You are everything to me! Thank you for believing in me and my vision for this album. Your support completely (100%) made this possible. Thank you for giving me the time and space to complete this. Angie, I’m sorry you had to listen to so many demos, bad vocal takes, and songs that I couldn’t possibly put out. I honestly don’t think there is another soul on Earth who would sit through that and STILL be supportive. I love you!

More friends to thank:
Brittany Johnson (Reverie Photography) - Thank you for being so supportive and taking time out of your incredibly busy life to help me see through this idea for the cover. Your eye and creativity is unparalleled! You are a true artist.

Dan Thompson (and family) - Thank you for allowing me to use your amazing cabin in the woods to start the recording process for this album. That was truly the moment I realized I could actually “do this”.

Scott Rierson - Thank you for being such a good friend and for always sending good stuff my way. Every instrument you’ve given me over the years made it onto this record in some form or fashion.

John Timura - Thank you for allowing/trusting me to use, record with, and generally drool over some of your vintage gear. The album wouldn't have been the same without it!

All my friends and family - Thank you to those who have listened to early versions of the album and given me feedback and encouragement! I appreciate your time and honesty. Also, everyone who has supported and listened to any of my past musical endeavours. Your support and interest in my love of music has meant a lot to me. I’ve been very fortunate to play with some very talented musicians (friends) over the years, and I’ve learned from each and every one of them. Thank you all!
